A delegation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany visiting the Synod

The Synod hosted a high delegation from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany: Bishop of Hannover, Ralf Meister and the General Secretary of Gostaf Adolf Werk, Rev. Enno Haaks. The purpose of the trip was to explore ways of cooperation with and support for the NESSL schools in Lebanon and Syria. Bishop Meister and Rev. Haaks visited NESSL schools in Sidon, Nabatieh, Zahleh, and Tripoli. They then held a meeting with the leadership of the Synod and schools directors to learn about their programs and understand the challenges that private schools in Lebanon are currently facing. Later, the delegation headed to Syria to visit the Evangelical School in Homs and its constituencies. On Sunday, Bishop Meister and Rev. Haaks worshiped with the congregation in Homs, and visited the parts of the city which were destroyed during the war.
