Christian Women in Syria, Lebanon, Ukraine, and Northern Ireland: A Shining Testimony of perseverance in the Darkness of War

The Women’s Desk at the National Evangelical Synod, led by Rev. Najla Kassab, in collaboration with the European Area Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, represented by its President Martina Wasserloos, and the Reformed Church in Hungary, represented by Ecumenical Relations Officer Julia Berecz, invited women from Evangelical churches in Syria, Lebanon, Ukraine, and the Evangelical Church in Northern Ireland to participate in a conference titled “The Unheard Voice: women’s persevering witness in war”.

This conference was held at the Dhour El Shweir Evangelical Conference Center from April 2 to 6, and provided a space for women to share their stories of perseverance amid war and to come together in moments of faith and hope.

The gathering concluded with a commitment to ongoing collaboration through future meetings and a shared action plan dedicated to empowering women as they face challenges and embody hope.
